I just purchase Parallel Studio 2016 composer edition.  I need to install the Ver 14.0 C++ and Fortran Compilers.

I found info here: https://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/older-version-product  but the instruction seem in accurate as there does not seem to be any selection “Additional downloads, latest updates and prior versions”. on the downloads page per the instructions given.

How can I access the older version of the compilers?

Serial Number for Academic Student License. Parallel Studio SE

Dear Intel Support Team,

I applied for the Student Version of Intel parallel Studio XE. Once in the download page (where the serial number is) I chose to download an old version (the 2013 one, it works better for my application). The problem is that the serial number provided in the download page does not work while installing the product: "Activation rights do not allow this software to be installed. This could be due to an expired subscription or incompatible serial number". I did the subscription for the student version a couple hours ago so I do not thing that is the problem. How can I solve this?

Thank you,

Regards

I was told to post this to enable download.

The software license is perpetual so your customer can continue using the software.  Remote services, however, are not available for expired licenses.  This means that customers need to use the license file instead of the serial# for installation.

Customers without a support contract can get support only via Intel’s user forums  If your customer is not able to submit the request through his Intel registration account, kindly ask him to ask for a copy of his license file through the User forum.  He should not include his serial#.  He will be asked for it offline.

Upgrade instructions for Linux machines

I guess the usual way to upgrade to a newer version is to uninstall the older version, then to install the newer version.

I guess this manual approach with 'uninstall.sh/install.sh' is not optimal when upgrading from one minor release to another.

On Linux machines, AFAIK, there's no script that handles upgrades automatically.

Could you please provide more explicit documentation or scripts for Linux machines?

Seems like it's looking for the source file in "D:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Download\parallel_studio_xe_2016_update1_setup" but I don't have this folder on my PC. Any idea how to fix this?

Installing Fortran and then C++ clobbers Visual Studio

$

This has happened to me twice in the past few months.  Earlier I was working (for years) with Fortran 2013 integrated in Visual Studio, and then I needed C++ for a project.  Since I own both (as part of the Cluster Studio) I installed C++ and told it I wanted it integrated with Visual Studio.  The net result was that my Fortran became unusable.  So I did my C++ project, and then had to do a clean re-install of the Fortran.

Since then I moved on to Visual Studio 2015, and I have been successfully using Fortran 2015 update 7 for a few months.  I needed to work on the C++ project, so today I tried to install C++ 2015 update 7.  The installation seemed to go fine.  Then I fired up Visual Studio and it told me that the IntelCpp integration package failed to load.  After several attempts with reboots and restarting of Visual Studio, I gave up and used the Control Panel to uninstall C++.  As it worked, one of the steps told me that it was uninstalling Fortran.  That is not what I asked it to do.  It seems that Composer is Composer to the uninstaller.

This is annoying.  Is it not possible to have both Fortran and C++ installed and usable under Visual Studio at the same time???  Is there some trick that nobody has told me?  Is there a certain order or something?

Renewed my .lic for Intel Parallel Studio XE Professional Edition for Fortran Windows back in Feb 2016.  Currently have the v2016 version and recently received an email to update to v2017.  Upon receiving the email to update to v2017 I tried to register my .lic  and the registration center says its invalid.   Also, I no longer see any products. Can someone decipher what is happening?  The .lic is supposed to be valid until Feb 2017.

Hi all.

I submitted a request of an academic license for Parallel Studio 2017 and received an e-mail

with the serial number and a link for download, but during license activation I get a message that says

my serial is invalid. I also tried to activate with the .lic file I received by email but the same problem occurs.

Does anyone know possible reasons for that ?

Thanks,

Fred

Error #10052, Parallel Studio XE 2017 Intel Fortran Compiler

Hello,

I downloaded and installed the 30-days trial Fortran and C++ intel compiler version.

I tried to compile a dummy Fortran code in Visual Studio 2015, and I get the following errors:

error #10052: could not checkout FLEXlm license
Error A license for Comp-FW is not available (-157,424).

The Microsoft C++ support is installed as part of VS 2015. I already rebooted my laptop. The INTEL_LICENCE_FILE env variable has been  set up during the installation, but it points to an empty folder.

Could you please help me addressing the issue?

Thank you,

Pietro

Commercial use of MKL - which licence?

$

Hello

I am trying to understand which licence terms would apply to potential commercial use of the Intel® Math Kernel Library. We are considering using MKL as part of our in-house analytical platform. We would not distribute MKL to our clients, but would charge our clients for reports/conclusions that we generate through the conduct our in-house analyses, which use MKL and lots of other stuff. I am assuming that this would not meet the "non-commercial" definition in the MKL EULA.

I have registered for Community Licensing for Intel® Performance Libraries, and have since downloaded MKL. The EULA in the downloaded version refers, in section 3G, to a number of different licence models applicable to MKL (it appears to be the 'vanilla' EULA). It is not apparent which one actually applies to our proposed use.

Advice on the appropriate licensing option would be appreciated.

Thanks!

DCL

The request for S/N of 2016-version of Parallel Studio XE

Hi!

My company uses the Parallel Studio XE 2015 and 2016 now (SKU: PPE999WSGE01X1Z; License Type: Named-user).
Now the period of support has expired on August, 1 2016.
We still had some registered S/N of 2015-version which we now cannot upgrade automatically for S/N of 2016-version in Registration Center.
I request for us the new appropriate S/N in a manual mode.

Thank in advance!

intel.com login and getting a license file

I'm attempting to install Intel System Studio in a research lab on behalf of a professor at my school, and I'm having trouble.

My professor acquired the software. She forwarded me the email she received with the product download link and serial number in it.

I registered the serial number on registrationcenter.intel.com using my own email address. Doing this required me to fill out an account registration form as part of this process. I registered an account, saved my registration info, and appear to be able to use this account to sign in to Intel Developer Zone resources (such as this forum).

However, all of the resources I need access to, such as the tool for downloading license files, require me to log in through a different portal which appears to want an intel.com account. I do not have such an account. My Intel Developer Zone credentials do not work for this login portal, and I can't find any resources to sign up for an account for this.

I'm unable to proceed with the registration process at this point. Can anyone advise me on how to proceed?

Parallel Studio 2017 XE installer fails quickly: "Package requires Internet connection"

Hello all,

I am trying to replace my installation of Parallel Studio 2016 XE with the new 2017 one. This is on a Windows 7 machine.

Downloaded and executed the small installer, that is supposed to load the required installation packages later.

However, when starting it, the first thing it tells me is:

"Package requires Internet connection

Could not connect to Intel(R) Software Development Products Registration Center https://registrationcenter.intel.com
Please check system proxy settings and try again."

Which is weird, because I can access that site with Firefox just normal. The Intel Software Manager has no problems, All other network works as expected, too. In another thread, it was suggested to provide a valid license file, so I set the environment variable INTEL_LICENSE_FILE to the appropiate full path of the license file that worked for 2016, but this did not change anything.

Any ideas what may cause this?

Thanks,

Soeren

Licenses required for 4 users on 3 computer network

$

We are putting together out budget for next year and need to determine how many licenses of Intel® Parallel Studio XE 2017 Profession Edition for Windows* OS we need to support 4 users on a 3 computer network.

The installation guide makes it sound like we should be covered for $1699 on up to three machines.  Is that correct?  The FAQ makes it sounds like it is per user, not per host.  Very confusing?!

https://software.intel.com/en-us/faq/licensing

How do I transfer licenses to/from another user?

Note: You can only transfer a serial number ownership to or from a different person with the same email domain.

Transferring a license to another person can be done for both named-user and floating licenses.

  1. Log in to the Intel® Registration Center. In the Serial Number view, click the serial number you want to transfer.
  2. On the Manage License page, under the Serial Number User Management section, click Transfer.
  3. Enter another email address within the same domain, and then click Transfer.

Transferring (pulling) a license from another person can be done only for named-user licenses.

  1. Log in to the Intel® Registration Center.
  2. On the right-hand side, under Intel Products, enter the serial number you want to pull, and then click Register. If the serial number belongs to the same domain as yours, the license will be transferred to you.

To transfer the license to a user from a different domain, you will need to contact Intel support. If you have an Intel Premier Support (IPS) account, you can submit a request against your product. If you don’t have IPS account, you can submit your request to Intel Software Development Products Download, Registration, and Licensing forum.

For more information click here.

1.1

Licensing Information

Starting from the 2016 release, the named-user license provisions in the Intel® Software Development

Products EULA (available as EULA.rtf at <install_dir>\parallel_studio_xe_<version>.x.xxx\licensing)

changed to only allow the software to be installed on up to three systems, tracked by the system host ID. To install

the product on another system after you have reached this limit, you will need to release an old system

host ID from the registration system.  As an additional consequence to this change as well as some changes to the license design, you will

need an updated license to use Intel® Parallel Studio XE. Additional information is provided here. If you have further questions or concerns, please contact

Technical Support.  If you have any questions on licensing, visit the Licensing FAQ page.
