Problems installing Intel Parallel Studio XE 2017 Update 1 Cluster Edition for Linux

I'm trying to install Parallel Studio XE 2017 Update 1 on an Ubuntu 16.04 VM, but am encountering some issues.

The installer tries to execute

wget --secure-protocol=SSLv3 --spider --timeout=20 --tries=1 https://registrationcenter.intel.com

which crashes with the following message:

Spider mode enabled. Check if remote file exists.
--2016-11-20 16:32:18--  https://registrationcenter.intel/
OpenSSL: unimplemented 'secure-protocol' option value 2
Please report this issue to bug-wget@gnu.org
Aborted (core dumped)

This is happening because Ubuntu has disabled SSLv3 (which is now considered insecure) in its OpenSSL build. Probably not a good idea for the installer to be using it.

Then when I get to the 'License activation' step, the installer just stalls at 'activating product'. I tried strace-ing to see if any other wget commands were failing, but I can only see

[pid <pid>] stat("/etc/wgetrc", {st_mode=S_IFREG|0644, st_size=4942, ...}) = 0

being executed repeatedly.

Student License

Hi there,

 I have downloaded the The Intel® Cluster Studio XE 2013 through your website (Free Tools for Students). Unfortunately the serial number sent me via email does not work.

The error is: Activation rights do not allow this software to be installed. This could be due to expired subscription or incompatible serial number.

 

It would be highly appreciated if you could please provide me with the right serial number.

ide_support_2017 vs update 1

I have recently installed PS XE Cluster Edition for Linux 2017 Update 1.

I noticed that there is only:

/opt/intel/ide_support_2017

and no /opt/intel/ide_support_2017.1 folder

Were there any changes for update 1 (eclipse integration)?

I am trying to evaluate ParallelStudio2017 on Linux, but after the installation I get the following output:

I don't see a .lic file in any of the displayed folders.

Intel Visual Fortran Composer XE 2013

 I am looking for Intel Visual Fortran Composer XE 2013 (compiler version 13.0 and 13.1), that integrates with Visual Studio versions 2010. We are in contact with vendor for buying this licence Intel Visual Fortran Composer XE 2013 (compiler version 13.0 and 13.1). But vendor mentioned that Intel Visual Fortran Composer XE 2013 is not avaliable now. 

I need help here. What could be the equalent of Intel Visual Fortran Composer XE 2013 that can integrate with Visual Studio 2010 with out any issues.

Intel(R) Cluster Tools 2013 for Windows* OS - Incompatible Serial Number

Hello all,

I am attempting to download Intel(R) Cluster Tools 2013 for Windows* OS; however, the serial number provided to me by Intel is not working. I get the following message:

"Activation rights do not allow this software to be installed. This could be due to expired subscription or incompatible serial number"

4 CPU Intel Fortran Compiler Issue

If you are installing this software on a system with more than 4 CPUs then call

1-800 222 4675. But it turns out that this number is not for the Intel Tech Support,

rather it is for the Rogue Way Company somewhere in Canada.

Hello there,

I registered an student account and download linux version of fortran/c compilers 2013 initial release. I received my SN in my email, but when I install the product, it was said that the SN is not valid. I requested a lic file in IRC, but still the licence is not valid for this product. Can anyone tell me what's going on there? My email address is xiaoming.wang@utoledo.edu.

downloading trial fortran compiler for window

Hello - I need help!

I downloaded the trial version of Fortran on my windows machine.  Discovered I had to also install SDK and Visual Studio 2015.  After that was done, I reinstalled the compiler and all APPEARED to go well.  The next step, running psxevars intel64 produced a nice error message claiming there was no visual studio to be found. 

I did find where "ifort" was located, and attempted a command line compile in the intelSWTools directory.  It appeared to compile but then refused to create the associated object file.  So - strike two!

 

Can anyone shed light on how to deal with either of these problems ?

Unable to download old version of Intel Fortran (support expired)

Dear Support,
We're currently in the process to renew our Intel Fortran floating license for which the support was not renewed after 2012 and we should be launching the purchase early next year.

However some of our users are experiencing bugs on the 2011 version which we're currently having on our Linux cluster and which seemed to have been fixed in the latest Update for the 2011 compiler. 

Would you be able to send us the latest package for it ?

Install error for Windows 10

Hello all,

I am trying to install the Fortran compiler on my new Windows 10 machine.

I have Visual Studio 2017 RC and Visual Studio 2015, both Professional versions.

The install fails every time returns the error code (via our software centre):

The software change returned error code 0x3E9(1001).

I have the INTEL_LICENSE_FILE variable set up, is there anything else that needs to be done before install?

Trouble getting my final configuration of support account

First issue:

I've requested VTune for evaluation (I've already downloaded it to my Windows 7 pc), but I'm trying to get it registered and licensed.  As part of this, I'm getting a new account.  For over 3 hours, I've gotten the message:

We appreciate your Intel product registration. There is a delay for the final configuration of your support account. Please wait approximately 1 hour and click here to complete the configuration.
 

Second issue:

My assignment is to load VTune onto a Linux machine that is only accessible (to me), using PuTTY through Windows 7 platform.  Therefore, the Linux box doesn't have direct Internet access.  Therefore, when I tried to install it (su mode), I discovered that entering the serial number doesn't work.  From the install instructions, I need a license file which was supposed to be sent along with the download-link.  It was not sent.

How can I get the license?

Cannot activate Fortran download

Hello -

I recently lost one of my PCs due to a disk failure, and I got the new one going, web access and everything.

However, when I download your newest Fortran 2017, and installed all 62 components, I don't see any way to start the Visual studio and compile anything. I looked under Intel and Microsoft, nothing there, just the other topics, such as Help, but no way to actually use the product. I used the current license which is good until Jan. 2017.

 

There were 5 items under Intel, but nothing was added to my Desktop, so there appears to be no entry point installed.

 

So how I actually use the product ?

Cannot remove older version of software manager

I am desperately trying to update my software manager, but I cannot since the older version of the software manger cannot be uninstalled. I found a previous forum here https://software.intel.com/en-us/forums/intel-software-development-products-download-registration-licensing/topic/607086 but was unable to ascertain a solution from the thread. Jennifer said:

The workaround for this problem is to remove the Intel Software Manager components after verifying that there are no currently installed products using it.  The cause was probably an incomplete uninstall of an older version of ISM that the installer could not update.  I will close this thread - please create a new thread if you have a similar problem. 

How precisely do I remove the ISM if it cannot be uninstalled manually? I can send my error logs, but I really need this resolved. Thank you.

"Account verification incomplete" After >> 1 hour wait

Hi, 

I registered using a s/n for Parallel Studio Composer Fortran/C++ about two weeks ago.  When I click on the emailed link to complete my support account configuration I am still sent to a page saying:

 

Account verification incomplete

There is a delay for the final configuration of your support account. Please wait approximately 1 hour and click the same link in the email you received, to complete the configuration. 

Is there a way to resolve this?

Where to download older intel license server application

Hi,

 

As per the subject line, we are migrating our intel compiler license server to a new machine (running ubuntu 16.04) and need a new (or newish) version of the intel license server.  Support for our compilers expired (on 2/3/16).  As noted by others, the download link for the license server (https://registrationcenter.intel.com/en/products/download/2841/) does not give the option of downloading previous (and supported) versions of the license server.

Where can I find the license server download that is supported by our license - ie, the latest that was available pre 2/3/16?

Instructions for parallel studio xe 2017 update1 evaluation say that the email I receive will have an evaluation license attached.  There is no license attached.
