Error: A license for FCompL is not available now (-97,29)

Hi-

A disk crash and rebuild forced us to obtain a new license with the new hostid. After a lmreread, the license now shows the license server and INTEL as UP.  However my users cannot compile.  They get the errors:

Error: A license for FCompL is not available now (-97,29)

and then

ifort: error #10052: could not checkout FLEXlm license

the command chklic command shows the FCompL feature is a valid perpetual license.  What am I missing?

Thank you.

Is Esif_assist_64.exe legit intel file or malware?

$

Hello,

I freshly reinstalled windows, installed basic programs from credible sites and installed automatic updates.

I did run a scan with few of antivirus/antimalware programs that I use, none found anything except for Roguekiller. Each time I run roguekiller in normal mode, it finds esif_assist_64.exe in C:/Windows/Temp/DPTF/ folder. Folder cannot be deleted.

DPTF folder along with that file and 2 others was not there after fresh reinstall, but it appeared after windows updates.

Detection in Roguekiller is labeled as Suspicious.Path, and type is Process.

Each time I click on delete it does not get deleted, instead it gets "killed".

File shows up every time I boot computer and shows time of creation time I booted the computer.

Description of the file is: Intel (R) Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Utility Application.

File does not show up in the folder when I boot computer in safe mode, and neither does it get detected by roguekiller. It gets detected by it only when I run it in normal mode.

I ran it through virustotal and it came in clean, however I checked the details and it shows all certificates as legit except the first one:

Intel (R) Software - Certificate Intel external basic issuing CA 3B. It is expired certificate that expired on 7/15/2016.

Also, it specified it as a Portable execution file.

I have questions:

1. Is it legit?

2. Is it possible that file with Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework was installed along with windows updates? That is only explanation that I have, but I would need a verification that this file is part of normal windows updates. That is when it actually showed up. Could it be malware or something perhaps?

Thanks.

Hi,

I was trying to install the parallel studio xe cluster edition for windows in my computer (I have the student software license for Fortran). But there is an error says"package signature verification failed". I have tried 2017,2016,and 2015 edition of this package but they have the same problem with the signature.

When I open went into the digital signatures in the Properties it says "the certificate is not valid for the requested usage".

Can anyone help me with that?

Many thanks

Parallel Studio XE 2017 Installation Hangs

Hello,

I am installing Intel Parallel Studio XE 2017 on a windows 7 64bit system and during the 'Pre-requisite Issues Summary' after I click 'next' it hangs on 'Checking license configuration (8%)'  It used to get past this screen and now it always gets stuck during this area.  I have gone back to older installations and tried Parallel Studio XE 2016 and 2015 and they all get stuck in this same phase now.  I take those .exe installers to another machine and it gets past it no problem.  I have rebooted the machine several times and the problem persists.

Any ideas ?

Thanks,

David

Installation issues with Parallel Studio XE 2017

$

Hi All,

I couldn't find a proper forum to post issues during installation, so I am posting it here. I am trying to install Intel Parallel Studio XE 2017 on OpenSUSE LEAP 42.1. The installation script gives a list of "Missing Optional Prerequisite" warning after checking the prerequisites, as listed below.

Missing optional prerequisites
-- Unsupported OS
-- Intel(R) Trace Analyzer and Collector 2017 for Linux* OS: Unsupported OS
-- Intel(R) Cluster Checker 2017 for Linux* OS: Unsupported OS
-- Intel(R) VTune(TM) Amplifier XE 2017: Unsupported OS
-- Intel(R) Inspector 2017: Unsupported OS
-- Intel(R) Advisor 2017: Unsupported OS
-- Driver build options are incomplete. Drivers cannot be built.

The unsupported OS is not an issue since we have two other machines in our network that is running OpenSUSE LEAP 42.1 & also has the Parallel Studio XE 2016. Everything works fine on those systems.. Infact everything has been fine even on my system until I had to re-install the OS following a hard drive crash. I have reported the issues in more detail on this thread.  I have also posted snapshots of the system details on 2 machines where the Parallel Studio is working fine. During installation on those systems, there was no warning generated about 'build options' or not having found g++ (more on this in the thread above).

 and

Details of the last in the above list ("Driver build options are incomplete") are as follows

Either kernel source directory, C compiler, or Make command is not detected by
the installation. To build the sampling driver, set up parameters in Advanced
Options -> Driver Build Options dialog.
To install kernel headers, execute one of the following commands specific to
your operating system:
- Fedora / Red Hat Enterprise Linux
   - On a system with the default kernel, install the kernel-devel package:
     yum install kernel-devel
   - On a system with the PAE kernel, install the kernel-PAE package:
     yum install kernel-PAE-devel
- OpenSUSE / SUSE Linux Enterprise
     zypper install kernel-source
- Ubuntu / Debian
     apt-get install linux-headers-4.1.34-33-default

To ensure I have installed all 3 things it expects, kernel-source, C & C++ compiler & make, I have taken screenshots from terminal, shown here -  http://tinypic.com/r/2cembrd/9

I suspect only the last in the list above could be of concern since if I continue installation despite warning, it installs successfully but gives errors when compiling.

Initial compile-time error, occurs when compiling the first file of my code -

ifort: error #10001: could not find directory in which g++ resides

This issue is fixed by referring to this link.

After fixing that issue, the next compile time error occurs during linking the objects  -

ipo: error #11025: Linker command line is badly formed

ifort: error #10014: problem during multi-file optimization compilation (code 1)

I could not resolve these errors, & I suspect it has to do with the incomplete driver build option warning it gives during installation. Not knowing where to post, I had posted the issue on 2 other forums - here in Intel® Fortran Compiler for Linux* and Mac OS X*, here in Intel® Math Kernel Library

I would be grateful for any advice or help!

Thank you!

Hari

Migrate Fortran Compiler 2013 Licenses From Old Hardware To New Hardware

$

Good afternoon,

I'm at my wit's end, but I am trying to migrate Fortran Compiler 2013 from old hardware to new hardware for my users.  These machines are on a closed-loop network and cannot connect to the Internet.  When attempting to register each serial number, each machine provides a code to submit to the licensing center, and then a .lic file is emailed to me.  Every time I attempt to activate the software, I get a message stating that the .lic file is invalid.

I need to speak with someone over the phone or via email to resolve this issue.  Can someone provide me with a direct email address or telephone number so I can get this issue resolved?

Error: A license for FComp is not available (-5,412

Hi-

We recently had a disk crash on our SGI UV1000 causing us to rebuild our system.  We installed Suse Linux 11.4 and went to the Intel registration center to acquire a new Intel Parallel Studio XE Composer Edition for Fortran Linux license file, since our hostid changed.

The license is running, however I continue to get an error.  Please help.

Error: A license for FComp is not available (-5,412).

Make sure that a license file is being used that contains a license
for the requested feature.  If your license requires a license server,
make sure that the server is using the right license file (usually,
this would be the same license file that is being used by this
application), and make sure that you have not changed the license
file since starting the server.

License file(s) used were (in this order):
    1.  Trusted Storage
**  2.  /opt/intel/flexlm/server.lic
**  3.  /opt/Licenses
**  4.  /people/userx/intel/licenses
**  5.  /opt/intel/licenses/COM_L___CTDX-ZDZWPPK3.lic
**  6.  /opt/intel/licenses/USE_SERVER.lic
**  7.  /opt/intel/licenses/server.lic
**  8.  /Users/Shared/Library/Application Support/Intel/Licenses
**  9.  /opt/intel/bin/server.lic

Student License - Installer accepts neither Serial Number nor license file

Hi,

I applied for a student license for Intel Parallel Studio XE and promptly recieved my license number. The installer does not accept it however, and I am not sure what the cause is. I have also activated the serial number and sucessfully generated a license file - but this also fails.

Error messages are "The serial number you provided is not valid for product Intel(R) Parallel Studio XE 2017 for Linux" and "The license file(s) you provided is not valid for this product." respectively.

My OS is Linux Ubuntu 16.04.

Thanks for any help in advance,

John

MKL license and Parallel Studio XE for Windows & Linux

$

Hi,

I would like to include MKL in a commercial product that runs on both Linux (32 & 64 bits) and Windows (64 bits). As far as I understand, I cannot use the Community license to sell the product, but need to purchase a Named-User license. Do I need to purchase a Parallel Studio XE license to have the right to distribute the libraries (.so and .dll) or a binary linked against MKL? Is Parallel Studio XE Composer Edition for C++ sufficient for that or are there other alternatives?

I am developing on Linux with GCC and cross-compiling to Windows. Do I need both versions of Parallel Studio for Linux and Windows to have the right to redistribute my software for both platforms?

If I purchase a Parallel Studio license, do I need to renew my license each year to redistribute my software, or is it only if I want to include new versions?

Thanks

Download specific compiler version and associated licensing

Hello,

We have a number of license for Intel® Parallel Studio XE Composer Edition for Fortran Windows*   Version 2015 update 0 or 1, purchased over the years and are happy about it, hence most are unmaintained. Now we need to get the update 5 still of the 2015 version due to change to Visual Studio 2015. For the maintained licenses we can get update 7 and a new license key.

However, we would like update 5 specifically if possible, but more importantly how do we get to run the updated version license-wise?

Given that the update we need is still within the 2015 version, I had expected that it would be seen as the same product, but that may not be the case?

Package Signature Verification Failure Parallel Studio XE Composer edition for Fortran Windows

$

Hello

My client has purchased 2 seats for Parallel Studio XE Composer 2017 and I'm attempting to install the software.  I receive the error "Package Signature Verification Failed".  From the troubleshooting I've done it looks for 2 certificates.  I've installed those certificates and still get the mentioned error.  I've tried installing online and offline via their respective installers.  I've also tried installing Intel License Manager and receive the same error even when installing Intel License Manager.

I've searched for several hours, but to no avail.

Any assistance would be very much appreciated.
